Martin Kim and Ayrton Baria are testing for the Jr. Pankration/MMA black belts on Saturday. These are a few pictures from a couple years back. There has been a lot of progress. There will be quite a few others testing for their color belts. Details soon. Enjoy the pictures. 🙂 OSU!
Yes these are some nice pictures that were taken at a local mma event in East Vancouver. Martin Kim and Jaecen Legaspi were starting off the show with a Kids MMA Vancouver demonstration that was particularly well recieved. It was a nice contrast showing kids doing mma with some style and then the adults competing using similar techniques.

We begin each class with a brief period of seated meditation so the kids learn to clear their mind and get involved in the present without distractions. This is a useful skill that has applications off the mats in a number of ways. At the conclusion of the class we also take a few moments to acknowledge the end of the training session and provide some inner reinforcement for the effort provided, as that helps set the stage for future success and continued progress.
