**Good work everyone for training, testing, challenging yourself, and making progress! OSU! Kids MMA Vancouver: Posener’s Pankration/MMA and Muay Thai

One of the highlights of this test period is the graduation of William Chung and Jordan Pham on getting their Jr. Black Belts in Pankration/MMA in our Kids MMA Vancouver program. They are both good young men now and have learned the first course. We really consider black belt in the junior category the beginning of more advanced training. It represents a good grasp of the basics of striking, in Muay Thai, Wrestling, and jiu-Jitsu; a combination, in other words, of Muay Thai kickboxing and Submission Wrestling. Our Pankration/MMA course is a no gi jiu-jitsu style with a wrestling base.  It also represents a good basic understanding of the tenets; Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit. We repeat the tenets at the ending of each class as a group to instill the development of those qualities. For example a student will learn good manners, honesty, stick to it ‘iveness, emotional control and courage. The application of those principles is given extra attention, as that enables success off the mat and that is part of the art and philosophy. Our goals of becoming the best fighter and martial artist possible and best person possible in personal development represents the application of the traditional philosophy.

Jordan after getting his jr black belt in Pankration/MMA in our Kids MMA Vancouver program has helped to teach the kids class. He is enthusiastic, positive and a great helper. He enjoys his position of now helping others with the skills he has learned. He is also working on his goals of becoming a chef after he graduates from high school and moves into the next stage of his life. His sister was also a good student before moving off to university. Jordan became a good leader of the kids class and inspires those around him to stay positive and keep progressing in skills. Everyone has a story and I am happy to describe more in another entry. I am honoured to have provided benefits to these students and they have reciprocated with their efforts and accomplishments.
