Kickboxing Vancouver- Posener’s Pankration/MMA and Muay Thai

It is nice to see a competitive athlete and mixed martial artist do well in the ring and the cage and do well off the mat. It is a proud moment to have benefited someone in skills that have far reaching effects. Joe Halfar has won 3 amateur ┬áMuay Thai Championships including the Canadian amateur middleweight championships under the CMTA, and he has been acknowledged in the business community for excellence in service for his business Pro Rise Painting and Renovations. Some of the qualities that helped him to do well in Muay Thai Kickboxing in the Kickboxing Vancouver program have helped him to do well running his own business, which, as I know, is a challenge in itself. The qualities of hard work, attention to detail, perseverance, self control and being in the moment are useful for a fighter in the ring or the cage and to someone running his own business. It is easier said than done, as people often pay lip service to those qualities but Joe, through time and effort has demonstrated the application of those qualities and more. Although his business responsibilities have made it hard for him to train at the intensity to take his competitive experience to the next level, he has trained regularly and maintained his skills and learned some new ones at a moderate pace. Joe has always been in excellent shape and he knows that the next level requires time and effort. After talking with him briefly recently, he has mentioned his desire to get back in the ring and take it to the next level. It is a matter of juggling responsibilities. So, in closing this post, I just wanted to say to Joe and others, ‘Congratulations. You are impressive’. but.. don’t rest too long at the table of success, as JR would say, and the best way to get more achievements is to get hungry again. It is a pleasure to have you at my school and I look forward to continued growth, progress and the excitement of overcoming various challenges.
